We can’t support Youtube, as Youtube’s video URL is not opened to third party app.
But maybe you can use other pc tool to jailbreak the url, then copy the file to GPlayer to play it.

We have a HTML/SWF program that is NOT on the web, but must be kept in a folder on the iPad. I need to be able to access this folder and using some program click on the HTML Home page, and interact with the Flash SWF file. I currently have Gplayer, GoodPlayer, GoodReader, iSwifter, Photon, and Filer on my iPad2. I have the zipped file in Filer and I have unpacked the folders from the zipped file in both Filer and GoodPlayer. Gplayer would not accept the folders. What do I need to do to be able to access the HTML and Flash?

I bought your app yesterday and for 1$ it’s great!
but it lacks some serious features compare to your competitors like:
1- sync subtitle
2- support for sub/idx
3-very limited gestures
etc
i hope you’ll work on it in next updates

I’m in the habit of manually managing my media files without iTunes nor the native iPod app. I’ve been using AcePlayer for a while and decided to give this app a try.
I can plug the iPhone into my ubuntu notebook and it will show me a directory with all the apps and their user documents. Usually a folder called “Documents” holds the app’s user data. For AcePlayer, this was easy. I can just copy all music and videos into the Documents directory and we’re good to go.
I can do the same for GPlayer. All files I copy into the Documents folder appear in the app. However, once the app runs, all these files disappear form the Documents directory. They are still in the app, but they do not appear in the filesystem mounted by Ubuntu anymore.
Does anyone know where they are copied to? I can’t manage the files manually if I can’t see them.

Thus, in the latest version, I cannot swipe through movie or resize the subtitles when I see a movie on TV.

I wanted to put video files in folders, and so created a few, but neither in Gplayer nor via iTunes on my PC was I able to move any video files into folders. That means that when I open the Gplayer, all the video files and the folders I created (which are empty as I can’t figure out how to move files, are all there. I obviously tried every button I could find on the ipad screen and on my PC. Please help.

Is there going to be an update to support the new screen on the Iphone 5 and Ipod Touch 5th Gen ?

The new version of GPlayer has a note: “Back up your GPlayer to iTunes before you do this update, this version removed ac3/eac3/truehd audio codec.”
What is the reason behind the removal of these codecs? And were alternatives put in place to play audio streams using these codecs?

If he want to select another movies we need to assist, selecting by picture or first movie frame would help him (and us) a lot.
It only show the videoframe icon (below the picture it shows time and size).
Most movies are extracts from Youtube which are saved as MP4 files.

January 21, 2013 at 1:48 pm
Well, AC3 won’t play on ipad. So there’s nothing that can be done (so far), unless you recode the audio to AAC.
I will then suggest you to make a mp4 file, for easy compliance.

Got the App. I am having a few issues and I couldn’t find a solution for Iphone5
1.No Audio while playing AVI files. File works fine on PC.
2. Start Playing option doesn’t start to play from where you last left off. Setting is set to WHERE LEFT OFF.
but it always start from the beginning.
Mp4 files play with no problem. I also has not problem updloading the files from Itunes and didn’t have to snyc which is great.

I do have a suggestion, too:
I very much like GPlayer’s feature of showing thumb nails. But this could be anhanced a bit: If a movie is at its beginning or end it very often happens that the displayed picture doesn’t say much about the movies content. In such cases it would be nice if a picture from somewhere within the movie would be taken as thumbnail, like after the first 10 or 15 seconds or so.
Please let me know what you think.
Thomas

This is mainly to used to show you the time where you left the movie.

March 6, 2013 at 6:52 pm
I noticed the following on my iPad:
When switching the iTunes Backup off, GPlayer terminates after each video. When iTunes backup is on it continues with the next movie as it should. I have 2 layers of directories. One at the top, five below this with all movies in them.
I also should say that I would prefer it if ther would always be a thumb nail in the list of movies. I have certain movies that begin with a black page which is displayed. Take it from 10 seconds later or so. And if a movie was played I always see the G logo. I’d rather like to see a scene from within my movie in this case, too.
Thank you!

I think we misunderstand. The setting was you told me. I changed, quit, changed back etc. Still the same. iTunes Backup Off: GPlayer terminates at the end of the video. It just quits and that’s it I have to start it again, gou thru my directories, search the next video and start this.
You are of no help until now. And I have the feeling, there’s noone here really interested. I think I’ll go and change my rating to 1 star.

you can only change one file name once, and if you delete the folder, whole videos under the folder will gone.

I purchased Gplayer this morning, only to discover that the movies on my Synology NAS dont play through my Apple TV, only the sound does.
Rather disappointing, I have to admit. Especially after reading this blog and seeing that this issue has been reported a while ago already but not yet addressed.

Hi. GPlayer was working great on my iphone, with my Synology NAS and via AirPlay to AppleTV. Now it only plays sound on the TV. When I open the taskbar on my iPhone and swipe to see the GPlayer icon there is no additional AirPlay option. How to I enable mirroring from the taskbar (even when it is already selected in GPlayer)?
Thanks
Scott

Sair, YouTube removes the swipe volume on purpose? Why? People who didn’t like it could just disable it. Now I have it enabled and can’t use it?
And why is it not possible to delete multiple files at once anymore?

While playing the movie via UPnP server, the subtitles do not appear. Is the function of external subs with DLNA supported at all?

It is supported, but need the UPnP server provide it as a text item, so we can know the path of the subtitle.

Frankly, there is subtitle file *.txt on the UPnP server, but the player can’t see it.
My UPnP server definetly supports subs as I can watch movies with subs on my MacBook. Any help?

Etc…

Ok I seem to be the only one wondering this because I have not seen anyone else address this:
How can I put a playlist together from a selection of clips (like TV series)
And most of all WHY does Gplayer not have an option to automatically play the next clip in a folder (or playlist if you can make one)
That seems to be a concept that flys over many Media player developers heads when they think about features .. For me AutoPlay next MovieClip seems like a logical basic and standard part of a media player ..
I’d love to hear if thee is a way to make that happen .. Esp. If it’s already included and I am just too (let’s say stupid) blind to see it 😜
Thank u

I have been using the GPlayer for some time, and have had good experience. Suddenly, a couple of days back, the videos do not play “normally” – when in full-screen mode, the videos no longer stretches to the side, but rather becomes a small rectangle in the center. I have since been playing around trying to find some sort of function that controls this, but couldn’t find anything.
Could you please help explained what has happened? And how do we fix this problem? Thanks.

Any update on the AVI no sound problem? I’ve used GPlayer for years and just dealt with it by using a different player for AVI’s. It’s becoming a pain but I really like gplayer. I don’t really want to use a different program. This has been a problem since at least 2012. that was 3 years ago. Any update on when this will be fixed? Thanks

Paid for full version but cant resize 2nd floating window? Can only resize 1st floating window and only before activating 2nd floating window, after which no resizing is possible for either? 2nd floating window always opens in a small size by default and cant be changed, I am trying to resize both independently so I can get them roughly the same size side by side and use the space on 32′ HD TV efficiently. (running android from TV box amlogic s905 Q-box). I have been tweaking the settings and experimenting for two days but cant work out how to do this, seems a pretty simple ask considering all the hype concerning this player as the best choice for people who want to resize multiple floating windows, any suggestions? Have I missed somthing or is all the hype a load of bull and this player has serve restrictions in multi floating window mode. Andrew
